Christmas Eve we always spend with Rob's family and it is such a great beginning to the holiday. We had a wonderful time with family, ate lots of good food and exchanged gifts. This year the drive was a bit tricky due to mountains of snow (okay it was a lot tricky, but once we got there and I had a couple of drinks I forgot all about traveling back home). The kids were excited to get home and go to sleep so that Santa would come visit.
The morning came quickly with Ellie encouraging us to get out of bed way too early. The kids waited at the top of the stairs with anticipation to see what Santa had brought them.
Ellie was lucky enough to score a brand new bike, Luke a new red scooter, and Drew was gifted a "huge, huge truck". They were grinning ear to ear.
Since my parents were in Texas with my sister Lindsey and her husband Nate, we were on our own this year for Christmas Day. We hosted breakfast and had my other sister Megan, her husband Jim and their kids Max and Makena over. It was a little crazy with the kids but we had a great breakfast, even better Spanish Coffee's (thanks Jim) and the best company.
We then had our neighbors and good friends, who were also holiday orphans, over for a turkey dinner. It was our first (cooking) and we were proud of how things turned out. We socialized and played Rob's new Wii for hours on end. Our night abruptly came to end however, when Rob threw the Wii remote through our TV! (Yes, he put a significant hole in our TV and No, he was NOT wearing the wrist strap). I had to remember what I was thankful for at that point in the evening (and it was not our TV).
All in all, it was a wonderful Christmas. We made many great memories that will not be forgotten.
Merry Christmas!

Where's the picture of the TV? Has Rob seen that commercial on TV where the guy throws the remote into the TV. It's awesome.
